The ride will start at the Wayne’s World Old Antonito High School in Antonito, Colorado. On the border with New Mexico. Antonito is the kick-off point for the Cumbres & Toltec Narrow Gauge Railroad.

We will take over the Old High School Gym on Thursday. You may sleep in the Gym, the stocked library or in one of several classrooms on the first floor of the gym. Or if you wish, camp outdoors. Your Truck or RV will be safe securely parked at the old High School. This is a thoroughly Epic locale you cannot enjoy on your own.

Please see the FAQ page for Frequently Asked Questions and Area Info/Lodging for more Info on the area.

Day 1 on Friday we will somewhat follow along to Conejos river to up and over the mountains to the Cumbres and Toltec Narrow Gauge Railroad to its Lunch stop near the Oiser Depot, on the border with Colorado & New Mexico.  The reverse course and ride around Antonito Mountain towards the old Chili Line Railroad Depot. We’ll then spend the night benchracing, eating and stay at the Chili Line Depot. Lodging or dinner at the Chili Line Depot are not included with the ride cost.

Day 2 on Saturday we will ride some epic little used 2 Track towards the Rio Grande Gorge on our way towards Taos, New Mexico. Ride into the Gorge, then above Taos on the High Road to Taos and then spend the night in Taos @ the Historic Sagebrush Inn on you.

Day 2 in the afternoon we will have the option to ride to the Black Rock Hot Springs on/in the Rio Grande river just west of Taos.

Return from the Hot Springs, or not, shower, have dinner and rest up for the Adventure back into Southern Colorado.

On Sunday Day 3 we will ride towards the oldest Town in Colorado, San Luis. First we will ride up the scenic Red River Canyon. Then above and around the active Quetsa mine.

From there we will gas up and ride ‘around’ Ute Mountain (an old volcano) and along a little seen remote section of the Rio Grande river on little used 2 Track.

Ride an off-road section to San Luis, adventure back to the Rio Grande river and the last bridge in Colorado on the River, and then visit the oldest Church in Colorado in Antonito on the border, have a farewell BBQ at the old High School, where your truck or RV have been securely parked. Pack-up and say Adios.

A spectacular ride almost 400 mile ride in a part of the Country with very few people and which few people visit.
